Almost immediately after its appearance on the domestic automotive market, the Audi A6 gained good popularity. The combination of excellent German quality, functionality, comfort and executive class in a sedan played a role. despite all the positive characteristics of the German automotive industry, operation in the Russian climate and not at all good road surfaces negatively affects its resource. Often it is necessary to repair the engine, gearbox or suspension earlier than under other conditions of using the car.

Secrets of car gearbox lubrication

Separately, it is worth mentioning the automatic transmission of the Audi A6 - it requires no less attention and maintenance than the rest of the car. If a used car is purchased, then before buying it is advisable to check the condition of not only the engine, but also the automatic gearbox: compared to mechanics, they are more complex in design, and they have more requirements.

Audi A6 history

Since the first release, Audi has installed different kinds transmission. Quite often you can find cars of this model with automatic transmission VW 01N, which, in fact, is a modern analogue of VW 095. Such gearboxes are also installed on other Audi models - for example, C5 and C6. Such transmission modifications also have their drawbacks - in most cases they face the problem of movement of the support washer in the torque converter turbine. Its wear results in the formation of metal chips, which accumulate in the pressure regulator, which can cause it to jam in position. reduced pressure. This could damage the transmission. This can be prevented by replacing the plain washer with a bearing.

The Audi C5, C6 and A6 models produced after 2004 began to be equipped with a different modification of the automatic transmission. The main problems with the automatic transmission, which entail its repair, are associated with an oil pump leakage or torque converter malfunctions. Obvious signs of such malfunctions are the twitching of the car and the tachometer needle at a speed of more than 50-70 km / h. The basis for the repair of automatic transmissions of the Audi A6 and C6 is the replacement of seals in the pump and troubleshooting of the torque converter. In order not to overpay for the repair of the automatic transmission and not to face more serious problems, it is necessary to diagnose it in time.

Oil selection for Audi A6 and C6

The life of an automatic transmission can be significantly increased if a high-quality lubricant is selected and used. In most cases, the main causes of malfunctions and breakdowns are the use of low-quality lubricant, its low level, or the filling of counterfeit liquid. The choice of high-quality oil and its timely change allows you to increase the life of the car and protect it from possible problems with transmission and engine.

Oil change in automatic transmission Audi

Automatic transmission is a fairly complex system of a car that requires attention and correct attitude. The key to reliable and long-term operation of the gearbox is regular updates and high quality transmission fluid.
Changing the oil in an automatic transmission of the Audi A6 is not difficult and can be of two types: full and partial. A complete change of transmission fluid is considered the most effective and is carried out, as a rule, every 40-50 thousand kilometers. Partial, on the contrary, is carried out somewhat more often - at least every 15 thousand kilometers.
The only limitation to a complete oil change is the use of special equipment, so you can only do a partial change of transmission fluid yourself.

High and low oil levels: what is the danger

Low and high level transmission fluid adversely affects the operation of not only the gearbox itself, but also the car engine. For example, a low level of lubrication can lead to air entrapment in the pump, which will cause an increase in the emulsion and a deterioration in the operation of the power unit. The service life of the automatic transmission itself is also reduced. It is almost impossible to determine the level of the lubricating fluid in the presence of air in it - the readings will be incorrect. In such a situation, it is necessary to wait until the oil has completely cooled down and only then check its level - if the dipstick is dry, then add right amount liquids.

Often you can encounter the exact opposite situation: the transmission fluid level is too high in the box. In this case, the parts of the gearbox during operation can foam it. An increased level of lubrication is just as harmful as a low one, and adversely affects the operation of the engine.

How to measure the oil level

The transmission fluid level on an Audi with automatic transmission is measured using a dipstick. Beforehand, the gearbox must be transferred to position P - parking brake. The divisions located on the dipstick allow you to determine the exact level of lubrication. Optimally - the liquid level should be above the first two divisions. Checking the lubrication level is carried out only on a warm engine, in addition, it is advisable to put the car on a flat horizontal surface. After measurements are taken, the probe is wiped dry and re-inserted into the pipe.

Foreign-made cars are supplied with probes with additional marks. These include a division by which the level of cold lubrication is measured - this parameter is usually necessary for a subsequent fluid change. An important point: on some vehicles, the transmission fluid level is measured only with the engine turned off. As a rule, such machines include Honda models.

The design of some cars equipped with an automatic transmission includes a plug instead of a standard dipstick. The disadvantage of this method of measuring the level of lubrication is that the machine has to be driven onto a flyover or into a pit, plus it is impossible to spill lubricant on the box itself. Most BMW cars are supplied with similar plugs, while it also closes the pipe hole for filling new fluid.

What is the best oil to use for automatic transmission?

For a partial change in an automatic transmission of Audi cars, it is recommended to use Mobil or Esso transmission fluid. Both of them are of high quality and are created from the best oils and additives, which is a guarantor effective work machine nodes. The best option is to use a lubricant recommended by the manufacturer vehicle: its name, as a rule, is given in the technical documentation for the car. In addition, you can find out which lubricant was used at the dealership.

Lubricant change

In order to change the lubricant in the automatic gearbox, you will need:

  1. Gearbox pan gasket;
  2. A set of keys;
  3. Purifier;
  4. Rags;
  5. A container into which the old grease will merge;
  6. At least 5 liters of new fluid.

The process of changing the transmission fluid in an automatic transmission:

  1. The pan is removed from the gearbox by unscrewing the bolts.

  2. The waste liquid is carefully drained into a container.
  3. The pallet, plugs and other parts are thoroughly washed and wiped.
  4. The magnet built into the cork is cleaned of dirt and metal chips.
  5. All parts are in place.
  6. About 3 liters of liquid are poured through the plug, with which the level of lubricant is measured, with a syringe.
  7. The engine starts.
  8. When the brake pedal is depressed, the lever switches several times from the parking position to 1 speed and back. At each position, the lever should linger for two to three seconds.
  9. The engine is turned off.
  10. The gearshift lever is moved to the park position.
  11. The filled liquid is drained again.

  12. The pallet and other parts are washed and dried.

  13. The magnet in the plug is either cleaned or replaced with a new one.
  14. A new oil filter is installed.

  15. Installed crankcase and new gasket.
  16. Bolts and cork are returned to their places.
  17. Lubricant is filled to a level of 3 liters. If a complete replacement of the lubricant in the automatic transmission is made, then 5.5 liters will have to be spent.

  18. After a few days of driving the car, the transmission fluid level is measured.

Replacing the lubricant in an Audi car

How often should the lubricant be changed?

Depending on the type of transmission, the frequency of changing the lubricant varies. A complete change of lubricant, as a rule, is made every 50-70 thousand kilometers. Much also depends on the conditions in which the car is operated: if they are violated, the transmission fluid changes several times more often. Many manufacturers recommend measuring the lubricant level every week, without relying on the instructions. It is possible to change the lubricant in full accordance with the established deadlines only if the liquid does not change its color, smell and properties during operation, and if the car has not been operated in harsh conditions.

An urgent fluid change is required if it becomes dark and acquires a burnt smell. In the latter case, as a rule, a new lubricant will not save the gearbox: all that remains is to repair the entire transmission.

At the same time as changing the transmission fluid, it is desirable to change all filters. If, after filling in a new transmission fluid, it has changed color and smell in a short time, then you should contact service center- it is likely that the gearbox itself is faulty and needs to be repaired. When buying a new car, you need to check the condition of the lubricant in the automatic transmission - it should not be dark and have a burnt smell. Even if a new fluid was filled in before the sale, it is easy to identify a faulty gearbox: just drop a few drops of lubricant on a clean white sheet of paper. If there is a malfunction with the gearbox, small black particles of burning will remain. Often you can notice a black coating on the probe itself. A second check will make it possible to make an accurate diagnosis: if there is no plaque on the probe, then it simply has not been used for a long time.

In addition to the transmission, it is advisable to check the engine and cooling system, the state of the antifreeze is a high-quality colorless liquid, there should be no oil films on its surface.

The best option for changing the transmission fluid is to follow the recommendations specified by the manufacturer. Again, you need to pay attention to the behavior of the car itself and the quality of its components and assemblies. It is advisable to choose only original lubricants, as they are produced by the vehicle manufacturer and contain additives and substances necessary to ensure the normal operation of the automatic transmission.

And a little about the secrets of the Author

My life is not only connected with cars, namely repair and maintenance. But I also have hobbies like all men. My hobby is fishing.

I started a personal blog where I share my experience. I try a lot various methods and ways to increase the catch. If interested, you can read. Nothing more, just my personal experience.

Attention, only TODAY!

After reading a topic of almost 90 pages, I realized how many people spend a lot of precious time choosing 10% useful information among this garbage, like: "What should I pour into my multitronic?", "Do I have a CVT, or automatic?", "My VIN: XXXXXXXX, where to run ???".
In general, I rushed to summarize a little information so that all this was more accessible.

Our wonderful car manufacturer Audi (read both BMW and MB ...), spreading his pocket wider, or maybe just spitting, laid in the maintenance work on the cars produced, or rather on the fluids of their hydromechanical automatic transmissions, the maintenance period - "for the entire service life", however, from the ZF regulations it becomes clear that all the same Where is the catch?
Obviously, any automatic transmission fluid is subject to aging, the properties that it must have in order to work correctly are lost under the influence of load and temperature. Audi, as a car manufacturer and a guarantor of reliability (for a certain period!), Apparently, this is of little concern, because, due to the "aging" of automatic transmission fluids, the latter do not break up to 100,000 km, but only begin to undergo more severe wear. But the automatic transmission manufacturer ZF, which supplies units for the Audi conveyor, apparently taking care of its reputation, may still be worried about the wear resistance of transmissions. These arguments can be confirmed not only by the ZF regulations, but also, in turn, by Audi's concern about multitronics failing without a long fluid change (replacement according to the 60,000 km regulation), warranty replacements of which would knock on the pocket.
If you are motivated enough, you think that you need to change the fluid in the automatic transmission, there are still pitfalls.

In general, there are several options for approaching the issue of changing the fluid in the 6HP19 automatic transmission on all-wheel drive versions of the Audi A6 4FC6.

To change or not to change?

1. If you want to change the fluid in the automatic transmission in the presence of obvious malfunctions, such as shocks, long freezing of gears, automatic transmission emergency mode, the presence of critical errors in the automatic transmission in order to eliminate them, this most likely will not help you, you need to open, troubleshoot and repair.
2. If your car has a mileage well over 200,000 km, and you suspect (do not know) that the automatic transmission fluid has never been changed, it is already heavily contaminated (cloudy) with wear products, then a replacement is unlikely to be useful to you. In more detail, with such a run without changing the fluid, wear products gradually accumulate in the automatic transmission, one might even say they are deposited in different parts of the transmission, then when changing the ATF, the new fluid, using detergent additives in its composition, cleans the box of wear products that can certainly get anywhere , to make the automatic transmission work with kicks, jerks, due to pressure loss / change, this will manifest itself more clearly in automatic transmissions that are already on the way to inevitable death. The change only reveals already existing malfunctions faster and more characteristically. It is in such cases that people, by hearsay, like a damaged phone, convey the tale that "replacing ATF 146% kills the box, do not change it in any case !!!"
Of course, on a serviceable box, everything can work out, but not a single master will give you a guarantee with high mileage, it's up to you to decide!

3. If the mileage of the car is not huge, the liquid is relatively transparent, the box behaves normally, then regular replacement of the fluid in the automatic transmission will only prolong its life. Of course, having scored to replace the fluid, if the box is not raped, it is unlikely to grunt by 150-200 thousand, but there is already a question about the attitude towards the car. So again, it's up to you, but it definitely won't get any worse.

Boxed fluid options

The clowning with ATF fluids, which was staged in Audi in 2008, led to the fact that in any oil store, any seller who did not delve into the oil twists and turns of the “rings” will unequivocally tell you that the only fluid that is poured into your automatic transmission is green under the number G 060162A2. At OD also, of course. Well, after the replacement, you need to reload the software into the control unit of your automatic transmission, since the properties of the fluid have changed.
The catch is that Audi simply removed the old ATF from the catalogs, leaving only the green one and increasing the price for it by more than 2 times. But still, the inquisitive minds of Russian audio drivers dug up old catalog numbers in the annals!
Yellow G 055005A2, it is also an analogue of the original, which actually poured for the plant - ATF Shell М1375.4
Blue (blue) ATF - G 055162A2, it is also an analogue of the original, which actually poured for the plant - ATF Shell M1375.6

Case A: Cars BEFORE 1st implementation:
To implement the service solution, it is necessary for vehicles up to and including model year 05 (implementation from gearbox numbers A: 4000597, B: 95253) to update the software of the gearbox control unit.

The use of a new ATF requires the use of the corresponding software version. If there is no correspondence, then the result will be permanent damage to the gearbox !!!
1. Update the software in the gearbox control unit to the latest version (see table on the link for original parts)
2. ATF, 2-stage replacement (1 x flush and 1 x change). Use only liquid specification G 060 162 A... ” . This new ATF is green.
3. When updating the software, all setting values of the switching elements in the gearbox control unit will be deleted. A final adaptation trip is mandatory to ensure good quality gear change in the box.

Case B: Cars AFTER 1st implementation:
Cars after implementation contain an optimized working fluid in the automatic transmission and the corresponding software version in the gearbox.
1. ATF, 2-stage replacement (1 x flush and 1 x change). Use only liquid specification G 060 162 A... ” . This new ATF is green.
2. Delete the setting values for the switching elements in the gearbox control unit. It is imperative to carry out a final adaptation trip to ensure good quality gear shifting in the box.
NOTE: For vehicles with MG06, the setting values can be erased and an adaptation drive can be carried out with the start of the Guided Functions!

If ATF replacement fails, file a technical repair request.
ATF replacement instructions:
In order to remove residual old oil from the gearbox (for example, from the torque converter), the flushing process described below is required.
1. Drain the ATF and fill in new ATF (green, G 060 162 A...), check the ATF level according to the Workshop Manual and correct.

Before the vehicle with air suspension is mounted on a lift, that is, all 4 wheels are suspended in the air, it is necessary to activate the mode of being on a lift.

Raise the car about 10 - 20 cm.

All four wheels stopped touching the ground.

Check the legs of the lift, fix if necessary.

Check the stability of the vehicle against tipping over.

Accurately follow safety regulations
The local regulations and directives for occupational health and safety must be observed under all conditions!

Never start the engine and tow the vehicle without ATF!

ATTENTION! Do not exceed the speed limit of 50 km/h on the speedometer.
2. Follow the gear indication in the instrument cluster, start the engine and release the parking brake.
3. With the service brake on, set the selector to position D, carefully depress the accelerator pedal.
4. In position D, carefully accelerate the transmission up to a maximum speed of 50 km/h. Hold this speed for a few seconds.
5. Carefully depress the brake pedal and brake the wheels to 0 km/h.
6. Switch the selector to position "R". By lightly pressing the gas pedal, accelerate the rotation of the wheels to 20 km / h. Hold this speed for a few seconds.
7. Carefully depress the brake pedal and brake the wheels to 0 km/h.
8. Move the selector back to position "D" and repeat steps 3 to 7 five times.
9. Then, with the wheels not rotating, switch the selector to the "P" position and turn off the engine.
10. Drain the ATF and fill in new ATF (green, G 060 162 A...), check the ATF level according to the Workshop Manual and correct.

Adaptation trip instructions:
For vehicles with MG06, it is possible to delete the setting values and carry out the adaptation trip after starting the Guided Functions!
For older vehicles, proceed as follows:
1. Make a preliminary trip to warm up the ATF to > 60°C (ATF temperature must not be > 100°C).
2. With the vehicle stationary, with the engine idling and the brake pedal depressed, move the selector from N to D and maintain this mode for approximately 3 seconds. Repeat the process five times. After that, perform the same actions, translating the selector from N to R.
3. Drive the vehicle so that it shifts from 1st to 2nd gear with minimal gas pedal pressure, and then shifts back 2-1. Repeat the process five times.
4. Drive lightly (engine torque between 80 Nm and 100 Nm, see automatic gearbox 02, measured value block 09, 1st display value) until the automatic gearbox shifts into 6th gear (vehicle speed approx. 80 - 100 km / h) and maintain this mode for about 30-60 seconds. Release the gas pedal so that the car coasts (coasts) to a complete stop (at the end, press the brake very gently). Repeat this cycle four times (the point is to let the AT shift up and down with minimal load).

After replacing the ATF, in isolated cases, extraneous noise may appear during the first 500-1000 km. Only if the phenomenon has not disappeared even after the mileage indicated above, draw up a technical request for repairs.

What to change?

1. If your car has automatic transmission firmware for green liquid and you have no doubt that it is filled in there, then your car is most likely after 03.2008 onwards, or it has already been changed there before you, then feel free to change the oil to G 060162A2, without stitching anything. Also, information about what kind of oil was poured into your automatic transmission on the conveyor can be found out by looking at the number on the nameplate located on the automatic transmission, or through a cord, in the automatic transmission control unit, such as: Serial number: 4320826, then comparing it with the table in ETKA.

There is a quality substitute for this original liquid - this is a liquid from ZF Lifeguard 8 of different displacements.

2. If, according to the nameplate, you have yellow or blue fluid, then you can also change it to green, as the dealer recommends, but this is more expensive due to the inevitable flashing of the automatic transmission ECU and an adaptation trip, although they say that this changes behavior boxes for the better, which is logical, new versions are written in order to eliminate shortcomings in the old algorithms of the boxes. But if you want to save money, you can change the fluid to Shell M1375.4., since it does not require any firmware changes after the change.
True, based on the “SO ST Special Course on Service Techniques” 03.2007, M1375.4 is an old yellow ATF, but, apparently due to the lack of M1375.6, many change to M1375.4, although it is not easy to find in Moscow , and even then only in bottling, as it comes in barrels of 208 liters.
G 055162A2 is still found in many stores, but today the price tag for it is not much cheaper than green ATF.
There is another good substitute from the manufacturer ZF Lifeguard 6.

And another important note!
To find out which oil is filled at the factory, it is enough to know the number of the automatic transmission control unit and the firmware number

To find out the number and letter code of the automatic transmission, you will need to get to the plate on the automatic transmission itself

Automatic transmissions installed in Audi A6 cars are initially maintenance-free. Therefore, the lubricating fluid poured into them does not require replacement during the entire service life. These standards are valid for the European operating conditions of cars, and in our country it is necessary to change the oil in the Audi A6 automatic transmission at regular intervals.

As you understand, the automaker does not give exact terms for replacing lubricant in automatic transmissions, but we are ready to give you general recommendations. It is necessary to change the oil in the automatic transmission of the Audi A6 C5 m C6 at least after 60 thousand kilometers. If the box is robotic, this period should be reduced to 50 thousand km.

Regular oil changes in the automatic transmission of the Audi A6 ensures reliable operation of the mechanism in a balanced mode, and also helps to extend the life of the gearbox.

Automatic transmission is a rather complex unit, which must be treated very carefully. Each motorist must periodically update the fluid or make a complete replacement.

Changing the oil in the automatic transmission of the Audi A6 C5 and C6 are similar to each other and do not cause any particular problems. It should be noted that a complete fluid replacement is the most effective procedure, and a partial replacement can be done every 15-20 thousand kilometers.

The choice of oil for automatic transmission Audi A6 C5

The recommended lubricant for this mechanism is Esso ATF LT 71141 or Mobil ATF LT 71141. For a partial change at home, you will need 5 liters of oil, and for a complete change you need 2-3 liters more. These brands of lubricants are of high quality and are based on the best oils with an optimal set of additives that provide excellent performance and help extend drain intervals.

The choice of oil for automatic transmission Audi A6 C6

Mobil ATF LT 71141 oils are also suitable for this model of a German car, but in 2008, when the car was restyled, something was changed. Starting this year, the original green liquid under the number G 060162A2 must be filled in the automatic transmission of the Audi C6. In this case, after replacement, it becomes necessary to flash the gearbox control unit, since the liquid has slightly different properties.

At the same time, the automaker removed the old ATF from the catalogs, leaving only the green liquid, which costs twice as much. Russian motorists managed to find the old numbers from the catalogs and found out that the yellow oil under the number G 055005A2 is an analogue of the original, which is poured into the Audi A6 C6 automatic transmission after 2008 at the factory (ATF Shell M1375.4). There is also a blue liquid under the number G 055162A2, which is also an analogue of the ATF Shell M1375.6 poured at the factory.

Firmware for green oil

If your Audi A6 C6 has green ATF firmware and you know exactly what it is in the box, your car was released after March 2008 or the oil has already been changed before you. In this case, you can safely fill in oil under the number G 060162A2 without changing the firmware. You can find out which oil is filled in the gearbox by looking at the number on the nameplate on the automatic transmission case. A qualitative analogue of this liquid is oil from ZF Lifeguard 8, which is sold in containers of different volumes.

Yellow or blue ATF

If yellow or blue liquid is poured into the gearbox of your car, you can fill in green instead of it, according to the recommendations of the automaker, but it will cost you more, as you will have to reflash the Audi A6 C6 automatic transmission control unit. At the same time, some claim that this procedure improves the operation of the box, since the new firmware eliminates the shortcomings of the old algorithms. In order to save money, you can fill in Shell M1375.4 oil instead of yellow or blue liquid without changing the firmware.

Good day to all! From this material you will learn how the oil is changed in the automatic transmission of the Audi A6. First you need to understand that an oil change in an Audi A6 automatic box is performed every 60 thousand kilometers. Many mistakenly believe that automatic transmission fluid is designed for the entire life of the car and does not need to be replaced. However, Audi A6 ATP, like other fluids, is subject to inevitable aging and requires periodic replacement. If you do not change the oil in the "machine" for a long time, then over time you can get into an expensive box repair. Agree that it is better to replace the transmission fluid in a timely manner than to buy a new gearbox.

However, if you begin to notice jerks when shifting gears or vibrations at idle when you turn on a certain position of the automatic transmission selector, and the oil has darkened and smells of burning, then it is better not to wait for the required 60,000 km of run, but immediately replace the ATF.

What is required to change the automatic transmission oil Audi 6 C4, C5, C6, C7?

1. The room where the work will be done. good option there will be a garage equipped with a pit. If work is done in warm time year, then an overpass is ideal.
2. One more hand in the form of an assistant or assistant will never interfere. All that is required of them is to start the motor on a signal.
3. Head for 10" and 14". Collar or ratchet.
4. New oil for automatic transmission with a volume of 8 liters. Original or analogue - decide for yourself. If you choose an analogue, you can save about 30-50% on the cost.
5. Automatic transmission filter. As with oil, you can take the original, or you can take a double. Usually, the automatic transmission crankcase (sump) gasket comes with the filter. We will need it too.
6. Funnel for mining bay.
7. Measuring container for measuring drained mining. If not, then you can use a simple plastic bottle or a used oil canister with a measuring scale.
8. Container for testing.
9. Carburetor cleaner (or some gasoline, thinner, acetone, etc.)
10. Free time - approximately 1 hour if the work is being done for the first time.

The progress of the oil change in the automatic transmission Audi A6

1. We put the car on a flat surface, warm up the engine to operating temperature, wait until the engine cooling fan turns on and off and turn off the engine.

2. Turn off the head on the 14 ”drain plug from the automatic transmission pan. We substitute the container for working out and wait until the old oil is drained. About 2 liters of liquid should drain. After that, the drain plug can be screwed into place. Now we turn off the second drain plug on the automatic transmission pan. It drains about 1.5 liters. liquids. Now you can wrap the cork in place.

3. We proceed to the dismantling of the automatic transmission pan. With a 10 ”head, we unscrew all the bolts securing the pallet to the automatic transmission case. At this point, be careful, as some more oil will flow, which must also be drained into a waste container. We disconnect the pallet from the box body and remove it to the side.

4. We remove a couple of magnets from the pallet, throw out the old gasket. We wash the pan from dirt and old oil with a carburetor cleaner (or other washing liquid, such as gasoline). We clean the magnets from dirt and put them in place.

5. We dismantle the old automatic transmission filter. It is attached with three bolts. We just unscrew them, pull off the old filter and install a new one in its place. Screw the bolts into place.

6. We install a new gasket and attract the pallet. Don't forget to tighten the drain plug.

7. The next step in changing the oil in an automatic transmission of the Audi A6 is filling in a new transmission fluid. We measure the amount of drained mining and fill in exactly the same amount of new oil. This is done using a funnel and an automatic transmission dipstick hole. Just pull out the dipstick, insert a funnel there and fill in new oil.

8. Now remove the return hose from the oil cooler. Just clamp the clamp with pliers and lower the clamp down the hose. The hose itself is easily removed by hand. We lower the removed hose into a container for testing with a measuring scale. Now an assistant comes into play, whose job it is to start and stop the engine. The assistant starts the engine, and you wait for a liter of mining to merge, and give the command to turn off the engine to your friend. Then add the drained volume to the automatic transmission through the dipstick hole. Perform the procedure 3-4 times. During this time, the oil should become light. Thus, you will change almost all the oil in the automatic transmission.

9. After all the procedures, check the oil level in the box. It should be between the minimum and maximum marks. If necessary, set the desired level.

That's actually all! This completes the oil change in the automatic transmission of the Audi A6. You have to tidy up workplace, as well as dispose of mining. Thank you for your attention and see you on our website.

Automakers of branded brands assure that in modern ones it is not necessary to change the oil, because it retains its beneficial features during the stated operating period. This statement is also true for Audi cars operated on well-groomed European roads. Our harsh conditions force drivers to periodically change the oil in the automatic transmission of the Audi A 6. According to service center specialists, the oil change in the automatic transmission of the Audi A6 C5 and Audi A6 C6 should be carried out after each run equal to 60 thousand km (for robots - 50, respectively) .

What kind of oil to pour into the Audi A6 C5 variator

Audi A 6 is a complex device that requires careful handling. When operating an automatic transmission, it is necessary to regularly change the lubricant (partial or complete). If you regularly check the level and change the oil in the automatic transmission of the Audi A6, it can be argued that the automatic transmission will work balanced for a long time, the life of the automatic transmission will be significantly extended.

Tip: To know what kind of oil to fill in the crankcase of an automatic transmission, you need to study the recommendations set out in the service book for servicing a particular car.

  1. For automatic transmission A6 C5 - Mobil ATF LT 71141 or Esso ATF LT 71141 oil.
  2. For A6 C6 manufactured before 2008 - Mobil ATF LT 71141.

The replacement of transmission oil is considered final only after checking its level after a few days.

Features of gearbox diagnostics using used oil

With a complete or partial oil change, an analysis of the state of the waste material is carried out. This is necessary to diagnose the internal state of the box and identify the causes of possible breakdowns of the machine. The milky-green hue of the oil indicates a high degree of wear of the locking system.

Magnets can also tell a lot. A large number of large metal fragments on their surfaces are a sign of the onset of mechanical destruction of the working parts of the gearbox.

When you need an urgent oil change in automatic transmission

Transmission oil parameters that determine the wear of the lubricating fluid:

  • degree of transparency;
  • quality of shades (from light brown to black);
  • the presence of various impurities in the form of fine waste particles.

If the oil in the Audi A6 car is clear, light, has no foreign inclusions and a burning smell, you can do without replacement. Experienced mechanics believe that in a particular automatic transmission depends on the operating conditions of the car.
