Home quest - a way to give any gift in an original and fun way, turning it into an interesting, exciting game. Why such a name? In general, a quest is a kind of game with various ciphers and riddles that lead to the main prize along the chain.

Main idea: the surprise is hidden in a secluded place, and the player is given a certain message-riddle-indication with a hint where to look for the next note. Solving all the riddles leads the player to the place where the gift is located. The simplest version of this entertainment is an indoor quest.

Ready scripts for the quest. Detailed information can be viewed by clicking on the image of interest.

Original birthday greetings - an exciting adventure with the search for a hidden gift from notes

Training

So, your task is to make sure that the player finds the gift in the right place after solving a series of riddles or completing mini-tasks. For this you need:

  1. Decide on a secluded place where you hide the gift.
  2. Make a chain of items in your house, which will lead to a hidden gift (the end point in it is the place where the gift will lie). Hints-tasks can be hidden in the most different places- from washing machine and oven to the mailbox in the entrance. The chain must be carefully thought out so that the items do not intersect along the way and do not lead ahead of time to the gift.
  3. Come up with and beautifully arrange messages-riddles-instructions.
  4. Arrange all the messages in their places. In order not to get confused, you can number them and draw up a layout diagram for yourself.

The optimal number of stages is from 6 to 10: more can make the quest tedious, and less can make the quest too fleeting. But this, of course, is a general recommendation - perhaps you will get a wonderful quest consisting of 5 stages (if the tasks are difficult) or, conversely, of 15 stages.

The quest can be made even more enjoyable and exciting if there are several gifts along the way (let the tasks be accompanied, for example, by chocolates or small souvenirs).

Puzzles

Where can I get riddles? The easiest option is to find riddles on the Internet, but you can also compose them yourself, since they do not have to correspond to poetic canons at all. And if they contain humor or something individual, personal (for example, associated with some kind of fun event), then this will certainly be very pleasant for the birthday man! To make it easier for you, we offer a selection of riddles to help you compose a quest indoors:

Every day at six in the morning
I'm cracking: it's time to get up!

Not knowing what laziness is?

Options for possible hints and places to hide them, as well as interesting ideas on how to beat some items

  • balloon with a message inside
  • soft toy with a note in its paws
  • instead of a riddle - a set of letters from which you need to make a word
  • drawing with a clue inside the candy
  • a plate of cake with an attached sign "Eat me!", with a note under the treat
  • text file or picture (photo) with a hint on a flash drive
  • text message or email with instructions on what to do next
  • a hint in the camera - a pre-taken photo of the next item from your chain; the player needs to take the camera and view the photos
  • hint in the newspaper - the necessary word highlighted with a marker (circled by a pen) (or we select letters in different articles from which the player needs to make a word)
  • At one of the stages, the player finds objects or pictures that play an important role in some work (fairy tale) - the player must guess what this work is and find a book with it. The book contains the following clue.
  • In a riddle, the key word may not be the word “picture” itself, but what is depicted on it. For example, in the picture there is a waterfall. Then, having guessed the riddle, the birthday boy will think about what the word “waterfall” means: a faucet in the bathroom, a shower, or something else. Then guess about the picture.
  • Compose a crossword puzzle (preferably on some interesting suitable topic), in which the highlighted letters are keywords the place where the gift is hidden.
  • The player finds the message and sees the following: a cell phone is shown on the sheet, an arrow from it to your pasted photo, from the photo an arrow with the inscription "Code word", then again an arrow and some phrase (it is desirable that it be very funny). This hint suggests calling you on the phone and telling you the password - in response, you also say a phrase (for example, a rhyme or a proverb) in which the next hint is encrypted.
  • Take a picture of the room where you are going to hide the gift, then print the photo in A4 format. Next, put it in a transparent file and put a cross on this file in the place where the surprise will lie. Then cut the photo into several parts. These will be the "puzzles" that the birthday man needs to collect. At the end point of the chain, put Blank sheet A4 format, glue stick and a transparent file with a cross - the birthday boy will need to stick the "puzzles" on a piece of paper, put it in the file and see where the "treasure" lies.

As you can see, there are a lot of options. When preparing the quest, you can use these examples or give free rein to your imagination and come up with something original. The main thing is to invest love during cooking, and the return will definitely please you!

Beginning of the game

A message with a description of the game and the first riddle can be:

  • Give the birthday person in person
  • Send as SMS
  • Put in a visible place or attach to the wall
  • Transfer through friends or neighbors, using a courier service - it all depends on your imagination and your capabilities

Approximate text of the message:

"Happy birthday! A gift has been prepared for you, but it is safely hidden. Complete all the tasks, and then you will find it. Good luck! »

And then you watch how the player solves your messages with passion and finds a gift. Alternatively, you can invite friends to participate, and then the adventure will turn into a real holiday for everyone. In any case, such a surprise will surely please the birthday boy, and the memory of this wonderful adventure will warm him for a long time!

My memories from childhood + imagination were enough for exactly one quest: a dozen tasks that are not duplicated.
But the children liked the fun, they asked for more quests and had to go online.
This article will not describe the scenario, legends, design. But there will be 13 ciphers to encode the tasks for the quest.

Code number 1. Picture

Drawing or photo that directly indicates the place where the next clue is hidden, or a hint of it: broom + socket = vacuum cleaner
Complication: make a puzzle by cutting the photo into several parts.

Code 2. Leapfrog.

Swap the letters in the word: SOFA \u003d NIDAV

Code 3. Greek alphabet.

Encode the message with the letters of the Greek alphabet, and give the children the key:

Code 4. On the contrary.

Write the assignment backwards:

  • every word:
    Etischi dalk dop yonsos
  • or the whole sentence, or even a paragraph:
etsem morcom momas in - akzaksdop yaaschuudelS. itup monrev an yv

Code 5. Mirror.

(when I made a quest for my children, at the very beginning I gave them a "magic bag": there was a key to the "Greek alphabet", a mirror, "windows", pens and sheets of paper, and all sorts of unnecessary stuff to confuse. Finding another riddle , they had to figure out for themselves what from the bag would help to find a clue)

Code 6. Rebus.

The word is encoded in pictures:

Code 7. Next letter.

We write a word, replacing all the letters in it with the next ones in alphabetical order (then I is replaced by A, in a circle). Or previous, or following through 5 letters :).

CABINET = SCHLBH

Code 8. Classics to help.

I took a poem (and told the children which one) and a cipher of 2 digits: line number number of letters in the line.

Example:

Pushkin "Winter Evening"

A storm covers the sky with mist,
Whirlwinds of snow twisting;
Like a beast, she will howl
It will cry like a child
That on a dilapidated roof
Suddenly the straw will rustle,
Like a belated traveler
There will be a knock on our window.

21 44 36 32 82 82 44 33 12 23 82 28

did you read where is the clue? :)

Code 9. Dungeon.

In a 3x3 grid, enter the letters:

Then the word WINDOW is encrypted like this:

Code 10. Labyrinth.

My children liked this cipher, it is unlike the others, because it is not so much for brains as for attention.

So:

on a long thread / rope you hook the letters in order, as they go in the word. Then you stretch the rope, twist it and tangle it in every possible way between the supports (trees, legs, etc.). After walking along the thread, as if through a maze, from the 1st letter to the last, the children will learn the clue word.

And imagine if you wrap one of the adult guests in this way!
Children read - The next clue is on Uncle Vasya.
And they run to feel Uncle Vasya. Eh, if he is also afraid of tickling, then everyone will have fun!

Code 11. Invisible ink.

Write the word with a wax candle. If you paint over the sheet with watercolors, then it can be read.
(there are other invisible inks .. milk, lemon, something else .. But I only had a candle in my house :))

Code 12. Rubbish.

The vowels remain unchanged, while the consonants change according to the key.
for example:
OVEK SHOMOZKO
reads like - VERY COLD, if you know the key:
D L X N H
Z M Shch K V

Code 13. Windows.

The kids loved it so much! They then encrypted messages to each other with these windows all day long.
So: on one sheet we cut out windows, as many as there are letters in the word. This is a stencil, we apply it to a blank sheet and write a hint word "in the windows". Then we remove the stencil and on the remaining clean place on the sheet we write many different other unnecessary letters. You can read the cipher if you attach a stencil with windows.
The children first fell into a stupor when they found a sheet covered with letters. Then they twisted the stencil back and forth, but you still need to attach it with the right side!

Code 14. Map, Billy!

Draw a map and mark (X) the location of the treasure.
When I made my quest for the first time, I decided that the map is very simple for them, so they need to make it more mysterious (later it turned out that just a map would be enough for the children to get confused and run in the opposite direction)...

This is our street map. The clues here are house numbers (to understand that this is our street in general) and huskies. This dog lives next door.
The children did not immediately recognize the area, they asked me leading questions ..
Then 14 children participated in the quest, so I combined them into 3 teams. They had 3 versions of this map and each had its place marked. As a result, each team found one word:
"SHOW" "TALE" "REAP"
That was the next task :). After him were hilarious photos!
On my son's 9th birthday, there was no time to invent a quest and I bought it on the MasterFuns website .. At my own peril and risk, because the description there is not very good.
But we liked it with the children, because:
  1. inexpensive (analogue somewhere around $ 4 per set)
  2. fast (paid - downloaded - printed - for everything about everything in 15-20 minutes)
  3. a lot of tasks, with a margin. And although I didn’t like all the riddles, but there was plenty to choose from, and you could enter your task
  4. everything is decorated in one monster style and this gives the holiday an effect. In addition to the tasks for the quest, the kit includes: a postcard, flags, table decorations, invitations to guests. And it's all about the monsters! :)
  5. in addition to the 9-year-old birthday man and his friends, I also have a 5-year-old daughter. The tasks are beyond her strength, but she and her friend also found entertainment - 2 games with monsters, which were also in the set. Phew, in the end - everyone is happy!

Every year we give children gifts with riddles - this is a whole quest, moving from one riddle to another, the child, in the end, finds a gift.

I came up with it myself when I was little Yaroslav. Then there were no names such as "quest". I just wanted to entertain the child, surprise him. She took riddles about everyday things from the reading anthology - a refrigerator, a wardrobe, shoes, a bathroom, laid out notes there, and handed the first one to him. There was delight - not to describe!

And now this happens every year. I've run out of ideas for riddles. And this time she asked Yaroslav to find puzzles for his brother.

Yaroslav did his best and found such riddles that I did not even know. Sat on the Internet for an hour :)

I share with you finished construction quest:

1. We give the first note to the child. We had it in the "hands" of an inflatable Mickey Mouse

2. The unit shudders,
There is a thaw in it, then a cold,
He is very happy with his work
And if you turn it off, it will sit in a puddle. ( Fridge)

3. There is a note in the refrigerator about cupboard

He stands in the corner against the wall.
Oh he looks big
But he is not punished at all.
Mom keeps things in it.

There is another note in the closet. You just need to hide it somewhere in a conspicuous place, otherwise the closet is big, you can look for a note for a day

4. I am not a sea or a river,
I am not a lake, not a pond,
But how morning or evening -
People are running towards me. ( Bath)

Interestingly, I inserted a note into a vase with shells on the mirror, it was directly visible. But the children searched together and could not find! Apparently the mirror has magical properties make things invisible.

5. And one more puzzle had to be solved to get to the treasured gift

Balcony

She tried to arrange the notes in such a way that Gleb had to run from one part of the apartment to the opposite: from the nursery to the kitchen, again to the nursery, to the bathroom, to the balcony.

And then Gleb asked me: “Mom, how do you manage to sneak in quietly and spread out all the notes that they didn’t even wake me up?”

The answer suggests itself: "If you become a dad, you can't even do that" :)

Gift-quest- a way to give any gift in an original and fun way, turning it into an interesting, exciting game.

Hints-tasks can be hidden in a variety of places - from the washing machine and oven to the mailbox in the stairwell.

To make it easier for you, I propose to help you with a selection of riddles for compiling a quest indoors:

Every day at six in the morning
I'm cracking: it's time to get up!

Not knowing what laziness is?

All year round swallows news.
(Mailbox)

  • Compose a crossword puzzle (preferably on some interesting suitable topic), in which the highlighted letters are the keywords of the place where the gift is hidden.
At the end point of the chain, put a blank sheet of A4 format, a glue stick and a transparent file with a cross - the birthday boy will need to stick the "puzzles" on a piece of paper, put it in the file and see where the "treasure" lies.

An approximate scenario for conducting a quest game in an apartment for a husband (beloved man)

(let's say you decide to hide the gift in the microwave)

Morning. Your other half goes into the bathroom and sees a beautiful message pinned to the wall in which you wish him a happy birthday.

Below is written:

P.S. Check out the washing machine!

At this point, you join your loved one and watch the search for a surprise.

In the washing machine, the husband finds a message:

“I have prepared a gift for you, but I will not give it. I propose to participate in the quest game and find my surprise yourself!

Kohl on all my riddles
Can you find the answer
That gift you will receive
Or rather, you will find it yourself!

The balcony has now become a familiar extension of the apartment. Everyone is so accustomed to its presence on the facade of buildings that it is probably impossible to imagine modern architecture without it. But the balcony is far from a modern design; it has its roots in the deep Middle Ages. As early as the 13th century, they began to be built, and they served for defensive purposes. These were monolithic stone structures protruding forward from the plane of the wall and having a blank stone fence. Massive brackets that were attached to the wall served as a hold for them. They used balconies mainly for observation and defense, they were built above the main gates of the city, so you can call them an adornment of the main city entrance.

The functionality and convenience of balconies were quickly appreciated and therefore soon they began to appear on the facades of residential buildings and public buildings. All sides of the structure, as before, remained tightly closed, and heavy forms began to be replaced by lighter structures because, being on the facade of the building, they served as its decoration. With the advent of the Gothic era, a new type of balconies appeared, in the form of a cathedral pulpit. They had a semicircular configuration, and under the floor laid out masonry with an overlap. Such pulpits decorated the facades of houses, and interior decoration premises.

During the Renaissance, loggias began to be installed on a special ledge, which was made in the wall. Appear metal fences and a clearer shape of its various parts. The Venetian era adds brackets in the form of animals and people to the construction of balconies, giving the impression that the structures do not hang in the air, but are supported from below by their figures. At this time, intricate figured metal fences appear, with a complex pattern of forged railings. Balconies become the decoration of buildings, so they are trying to make them unusually picturesque.

In Russia, these architectural elements appeared quite late, and they could only be found on the facades of royal palaces. In the Baroque era, the Catherine Palace was decorated with a large number of such structures, it was a special charm of those times, it emphasized the pomposity of the building. At the end of the 19th century, balconies began to be widely used in the construction of tenement houses. The use of concrete and metal makes it possible to build more balconies into the facades of city houses, this becomes not too expensive and not only the privilege of kings.

Origin of the word "balcony"

The word "balcony" itself has ancient German roots, and in translation means "beam" or "log". The Italians began to use it, giving the word a national color, they changed the word "balco" to "balcony". This word refers to the protrusion of the beams built into the wall. In this form, the word went around the world and spread widely along with the construction of these structures.

Modern balconies

Currently, a balcony is not only an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding landscape and fresh air, but also the prospect of expanding living space. Therefore, glazed loggias have gained wide popularity, in which you can arrange both a pantry and extra room, and a greenhouse for flowers.

The protruding rooms of modern houses can be divided into four main types:

  • - a platform protruding from the wall, having fences and railings;
  • Veranda- differs from the usual balcony in large size, obligatory covering from above and support in the form of columns;
  • Loggia- a structure recessed into the facade of the building, having only one side;
  • - an opening in the wall, fenced from the side of the street, it does not have a platform for exit.

In different countries, a certain form of balcony usually prevails, it depends on the climatic conditions of the country. In countries with a sultry and hot climate, covered verandas and terraces are common, hiding from the scorching rays of the sun. Where the climate is more temperate, open structures and large verandas are used. In countries with cold and harsh weather, loggias are built in, and more often this architectural element is not used at all.

Riddles about the balcony

People have always loved to envelop objects around them with secrets and unusual properties. Of course, the loggias did not go unnoticed. Riddles about the balcony help to develop children's ingenuity and the ability to think logically; the ability to reproduce the image of an object in words develops the imagination. And such an element of the building is not so easy to guess, for this you have to think carefully. Let us give examples of several riddles, the clues for which will be the word "balcony".

I'm from home to the threshold
Only one step took a step,
The door closed behind
There is no path ahead of me.

I'm at home - and not at home,
Between heaven and earth,
Guess, friends
Where am I?

Not a house, but not a street,
High, but not scary.

Home is like a home
One hundred pockets in it.
In every pocket
Beds with flowers.

The riddle about the balcony can be invented by both adults and children. Let the kids think a little and describe this building element, for sure, from the prevailing descriptions, you can assemble a whole ballad. Such designs are so tightly integrated into people's lives that even the classics could not do without them, it is worth remembering "Romeo and Juliet", the balcony can be called one of the acting characters of this world famous work.

The history of appearance can be called remarkable and interesting. In the Middle Ages, there were no toilets in the houses, so people had to correct the need using special dishes, and its contents often simply poured out the windows of houses, right on the pavement. Because of this, the smell of cities was simply unbearable, and it caused a lot of inconvenience to passers-by. In Paris, a decree was issued prohibiting the pouring of slop without shouting about it three times, and a fine was provided for failure to comply with this law.

Even in the Louvre, the palace of the French nobles and kings, in those days it was impossible to find a single toilet. Guests and courtiers had to either squat on the wide window sills or demand a special vase. The use of windows was extremely inconvenient, so they began to make special windows to the floor, and so that the nobles did not fall out of them, they made a special barrier. Modern French balconies, of course, are not used for their original purpose, they perform the function of decorating the facade and emphasize the unusual interior, but the original name was assigned to them.

Living in modern houses and using various objects in everyday life, usually no one thinks about their origin, and yet everything has its own deep history. Much remains unchanged from its original image, and some objects have changed so much that it is hard to even imagine what they were at the very beginning of their journey.
